KRONE UK raise vital funds for farming charities in celebration of 40 years of Round Baler production

Three agricultural charities have received a portion of a £20,000 donation as a result of KRONE UK’s Charity Baler Raffle.
Throughout the year, KRONE UK have been celebrating 40 years of round baler production. To mark this special occasion, KRONE wanted to give back to the UK farming community. KRONE is still and always has been a family run business who understand the importance of family values; UK farmers are regularly forced to deal with issues on the farm that are beyond their control, whether this be animal diseases, fluctuating market prices or the weather. With 25% of farming families living below the poverty line, KRONE UK wanted to help make a difference by ensuring they keep these farmers farming.
That’s why KRONE decided to run a charity raffle giving someone the chance to win a KRONE Comprima Round Baler for life. The Comprima baler has travelled the length and breadth of the country throughout the year, making an appearance at national shows such as LAMMA, dealer open days and local county shows. All proceeds made from the £3 tickets sold were to be donated to charity.
KRONE UK Product and Marketing Manager, James Duggleby, presented the Farming Community Network (FCN) and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Society (R.A.B.I) with £20,000 at the BBC Countryfile LIVE event. Donations made in Scotland were also split with Scottish charity, the Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Society (R.S.A.B.I). He said “At Krone, we're proud to have been manufacturing round balers for 40 years and to mark this special occasion, we wanted to give back to the users of our machinery. We understand the varying issues farmers may face on a daily basis and wanted to do something that would make a difference within the UK farming community".
On receiving the donation, Charles Smith, Chief Executive of FCN said: "We're extremely grateful to Krone UK for marking the 40th anniversary of their round balers by raising so much money for FCN. The money raised would be enough to keep our helpline running for almost one month. I offer my sincerest thanks to everyone who took part in the raffle and congratulations to Mr Rowlands on winning such a fantastic baler".
