Dorset contracting and engineering company speed up their operation with a new Krone BiGPack 1270 XC High Speed multi-bale square baler.

Jack Bailey and George Lewindon from G.J Agri Ltd were loyal AGCO customers until they tried the Krone BiGPack 1270 large square baler on demo. Whilst demoing the machine in July 2017, Jack learnt that “there were so many superior features that the krone machine could offer”.
George, who drove the baler on demonstration, added that “the biggest selling point is the lack of chains and shear bolts which are replaced with shafts and cam clutches. We feel this will increase productivity and reduce our maintenance times, coupled with less wearing parts and reduced running costs. The other feature which really impressed us was the pickup which is unparalleled with its camless reel and powered feed auger”
Despite a fondness for the Massey Ferguson product, it was a very easy decision to change due to the wide array of benefits on the Krone with no apparent disadvantages. ‘The Krone BiGPack 1270 XC baler was a superior baler all round’ Jack stated.
Jack Bailey started the contracting business in 2010 while George trained to become a Massey Technician before the two of them teamed up. A new business was formed in 2014 offering contracting, engineering and aftersales parts and oils. The contracting business now offers a complete service from standing grass to stacked round and square bales, hedge trimming, circular sawing, muckspreading, plus a wide array of other services. The engineering side of the business covers anything from hydraulic hoses to engine rebuilds.
The team's future plans are to push the baling side of the business to full capacity, with a demo of a Krone Comprima round baler already booked.
