Job Title: Service Technician

 

Reports To: Service Manager

 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary: Responsible for performing retail and internal equipment repairs in a timely and efficient manner by performing the following duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Diagnose, inspect, repair and, assemble agricultural equipment as assigned by the supervisor.*

2. Document machine information and repairs completed on work order, including parts to properly account for all parts and labor used.*

3. Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, equipment and vehicles.*

4. Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities. Assists with product demonstrations, as needed.*

5. Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold by the dealership.*

6. Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.

7. Responsible for continuously improving knowledge and proficiencies independently and through training sessions.*

8. Participate in company communication efforts, including team huddles and location meetings.

9. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

10. Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

11. Able to work extended hours with minimal notice.

12. Must be able to travel nationally and internationally.*

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and DIS/SAP.

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Specialized Training:

Competent use of mechanical and diagnostic tools to complete repairs.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver's license

Valid Passport for International Travel
